Petition to Participate

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation is the authorized representative of the Canadian Claimants Group (CCG). The CBC and the members of the CCG have participated as an Allocation Phase claimant group through most of the history of the cable distribution proceedings and collects and distributes royalties to its members for non-American programming broadcast on Canadian television stations secondarily transmitted in the United States. The CBC and CCG members claim for the majority of the programming on distant Canadian television stations. The CBC and the CCG have received and expect to continue receiving section 111 royalties and have a significant interest in cable royalty rates.
