Petition to participate

Petitioner George Johnson (“GEO”) is a pro se Appellant songwriter, owner of exclusive rights, and independent music publisher, dba George Johnson Music Publishing, who has a significant interest in this proceeding and respectfully submits his Petition to Participate in Phonorecords V pursuant to 37 CFR § 351(b)(1)(i). GEO has written and published §115 underlying works on Apple Music (in a direct deal since 2009), on Youtube, and Pandora, et al., as well as being a member of the Music License Collective (“MLC”) who receives royalties as a self-published songwriter. GEO was a full participant in Webcasting IV & VI, SDARS III, Phonorecords III & IV as well as appeals SoundExchange v. Copyright Royalty Board and Johnson v. Copyright Royalty Board at the DC Circuit. In Phonorecords IV GEO was previously declared an expert witness in sound recording and songwriting by the Copyright Royalty Board.
