Statement of significant interest
Global Music Rights, LLC ("GMR") is a performing rights society that represents many of today's most popular music creators in licensing public performance rights in their musical compositions. Founded in 2013 as the first performing rights organization in the United States in nearly 75 years, GMR has quickly become the performing rights organization of choice for over 50,000 musical works. GMR has a significant interest in the subject matter of this proceeding. On behalf of its affiliated songwriters, composers, and music publishers, GMR negotiates licenses with public broadcasting entities that publicly perform its affiliates' copyrighted works pursuant to Section 118 of Title 17 of the U.S. Code, and GMR will continue to negotiate such licenses with public broadcasting entities during the 2028-2032 period. GMR filed a petition to participate, and has so participated, in the previous Section 118 proceeding and intends to fully participate in this proceeding.
