Statement of significant interest
Pursuant to the Notice issued by the Copyright Royalty Board and published at 89 Fed. Reg. 105635 (Dec. 27, 2024) and 17 U.S.C. Section 803(b)(ii)(B), NCTA – The Internet & Television Association (“NCTA”) hereby submits this Petition to Participate in a proceeding to adjust cable compulsory license royalty rates should one become necessary. NCTA has the requisite “significant interest” in the rates subject to adjustment in this proceeding. NCTA represents the owners and operators of cable systems (“member companies”) serving more than 80 percent of the nationʼs cable television households. NCTAʼs member companies use copyrighted works whose royalty rates are specified by Title 17 and include SA1-2 Short Form and SA3 Long Form Cable Compulsory License Statement of Account filers. Pursuant to 37 C.F.R. §351.1(4), a $150 filing fee accompanies this Petition to Participate.
